File hosting

Any file on the web, at a link people remember.

Drop a photo, a PDF, a video or a spreadsheet and get a short link, a page that shows it, a QR code to print and the file in any format. No account for files up to 50 MB, up to 5 GB each on Pro.

What you get

File hosting

  • A page, not a download prompt

The link opens a clean page that shows the picture, plays the video or previews the document, with a download button beside it.

  • A QR code for every file

Put a menu, a brochure or a manual on a table or a wall. The code opens the file on any phone, with no app and no account.

  • Every format included

Add an ending to the link and the file comes back in that format: a Word file as PDF, an iPhone photo as JPG, a sheet as JSON.

  • Files that stay

A visitor's file stays 30 days. On an account, files stay for as long as you keep the link, with 5 GB of room on Free.

  • Big files, from anywhere

Drag it onto the page, paste it, pick it, or send it from a terminal with one command. Pro takes files up to 5 GB, sent in parts so a slow line finishes too.

  • Safe to open

Programs and installers are refused for everyone, a reported file comes down and its fingerprint is blocked, and every file page has a report link.

How it works

Three steps, no setup.

  1. 01

Drop the file on the home page or at /drop, or run curl -T from a terminal. The upload shows its progress.

  2. 02

Get the link and the QR code the moment it lands: a short link that opens the file page, and a QR code in PNG or SVG.

  3. 03

Share, print or embed the link, and open it in any format by its ending. On an account, give it a password or an expiry, or delete it, from your dashboard.

From a terminal
# One command, one short link
curl -T photo.heic https://snip.link

# A form upload works too
curl -F file=@slides.pptx https://snip.link

# Piped input, named by what it is
pbpaste | curl -T - https://snip.link

# The same file as a PDF
https://snip.link/<code>.pdf

The same from the REST API and the MCP server, inside Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Claude Code.

Plans

Free to start. Pro for volume.

Everything here works on the free plan. Pro is $4 a month or $36 a year, for more room and longer history.

Who it is for

Built for the way you share.

  • Restaurants and venues

The menu or the programme as a PDF behind a QR code on the table, opening on any phone, with the scans counted.

  • Teams and clients

Hand a client a link that opens the deck in the browser, with the PDF a click away, instead of an attachment.

  • Developers and agents

Publish a build, a report or a chart from a script with one PUT, and get a stable URL back.

Questions

About hosting files.

How big can a file be?

50 MB without an account, 100 MB on Free and 5 GB on Pro. Large files are sent in parts, so an upload survives a slow connection.

How long do files stay up?

A visitor's file for 30 days, unless you sign up and claim it. An account's files stay for as long as the link does, within the plan's room (5 GB on Free, 100 GB on Pro).

Is there a download limit or bandwidth fee?

No. A file can be opened as many times as people open it, at no cost to you.

Can people see who else opened the file?

No. The file page shows the file, its size and the formats. Visits are counted for the owner only, without personal details.

Which files are not allowed?

Programs and installers for everyone, and archives without an account. Files reported for abuse are removed and their fingerprints blocked. See the terms for the full list.

Does a file count against my links?

No. Files have their own room on each plan and do not use up the link allowance.
