How it works
What you type is not uploaded. The code you download holds your content and needs no service to work.
- 01
Name it and set the time. Pick when it starts and, if you like, when it ends. Without an end it runs one hour.
- 02
Add the place and details. An address or a room, and a line or two people should have in their calendar, such as what to bring.
- 03
Put it on the invite. Download an SVG or PDF for flyers and posters, or a PNG for a slide or an email.
Good to know
Times stay local
Times are the event's own local time: 7 pm reads as 7 pm on every phone, which suits an event people attend in person.
A standard calendar entry
The code holds an iCalendar event, the format Apple, Google and Outlook calendars all read.
Plans change
The date is inside the code, so a new date needs a new code. For an event that might move, print a Snip short link to an event page you can update.
Questions
About Event QR codes.
The longer answers are in the static vs dynamic guide and the QR code FAQ.
How do I make a QR code for a calendar event?
Choose Event above, enter the name and start time, then the end, place and details if you like. Download the code and scanning it offers to add the event to the calendar.
Does it work with Google Calendar and Apple Calendar?
It holds a standard iCalendar event, which both read. On most phones the camera offers to add it; a few older scanner apps show the details as text instead.
What if the time changes after I print?
Make a new code: the time is stored in the pattern. If changes are likely, print a Snip short link to your event page and update the page.
Do event QR codes expire?
The code itself never expires, it keeps holding the same event. It simply describes a date that will pass.
