Open in the app

Links that open the app, even from inside Instagram.

Instagram, TikTok and Facebook open every link in their own browser, so a YouTube video, a Spotify song or an Amazon product lands on a logged-out web page. A Snip link opens the app instead. Automatic on every link, free, with no click cap.

What you get

Open in the app

  • YouTube

Videos, Shorts and channels open in the YouTube app, where people are signed in and can subscribe in one tap.

  • Spotify

Tracks, albums, playlists, artists and podcasts open in Spotify, ready to play and to save to a library.

  • Amazon

Products open in the Amazon app, signed in with the cart and saved addresses, across Amazon's main stores.

  • Nothing to switch on

Every link to a supported app does it on its own, the ones made without an account included. Nothing to set up per link.

  • Falls back to the web

No app on the phone, or tapped in a normal browser: the link goes to the page as it always did.

  • Every tap counted

Taps from inside Instagram and TikTok count like any other click, by day, country and device.

How it works

Three steps, no setup.

  1. 01

Paste a YouTube, Spotify or Amazon link on snip.link, the API or an assistant, and get a short link and its QR code.

  2. 02

Put it in your bio, post or story on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Threads, Snapchat or LinkedIn.

  3. 03

A follower taps it and the app opens on the video, the song or the product, not the in-app browser.

From the API
# Any YouTube, Spotify or Amazon link opens in its app
curl -X POST https://snip.link/v1/links \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $KEY" \
  -d '{"url": "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIDEO_ID"}'

# Or with no key at all
curl -d url=https://open.spotify.com/track/TRACK_ID https://snip.link

The same from the REST API and the MCP server, inside Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Claude Code.

Who it is for

Built for the way you share.

  • Creators

A link in bio that opens the video or the song where your followers are signed in, so they subscribe and save.

  • Shops and affiliates

Product links that open the Amazon app with the cart and checkout ready, instead of a sign-in page.

  • AI assistants

Ask Claude or ChatGPT for a link that opens the app from Instagram, and get one from the connector.

Questions

About opening links in the app.

How do I make a YouTube link open the app from Instagram?

Shorten it on snip.link and post the short link. When someone taps it inside Instagram, the YouTube app opens on that video. Nothing else to set.

Is it free?

Yes, on every link, with or without an account, and there is no monthly cap on taps.

What happens if the app is not installed?

The link goes on to the web page, the same as before. Nothing breaks.

Which apps and stores does it open?

YouTube (videos, Shorts, channels, YouTube Music), Spotify (tracks, albums, playlists, artists, podcasts) and Amazon's main stores, including the US, UK, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, India, Japan and Australia.

Which in-app browsers does it work from?

Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Threads, Snapchat and LinkedIn, on iPhone and Android. In Safari, Chrome and every other normal browser the link works as it always does.

Does it change my link for anyone else?

No. Only a tap inside one of those apps on a phone gets the app; every other visit gets the usual redirect, and every tap is counted.
