Archive any web page at a link you own
Paste an address and Snip saves the page as it is now: the words, a full screenshot, a PDF and a web archive, at a short link that opens the live page and keeps the copy.
What you get
Archive a web page
Every format at once
Markdown, plain text, a full-page screenshot, a PDF and a web archive, from one load of the page in a real browser.
Versions over time
Save the page again whenever it changes and keep each version: 10 versions per link on Free, 100 on Pro.
Fingerprinted
Each saved file carries its SHA-256, so anyone can check a copy is exactly what was saved.
A link you own
The copy lives at your short link: add + for its archive page, .pdf or .md for a format.
How it works
- 01
Paste the address. Any public page. Pages that ask not to be archived are skipped, and say so.
- 02
Snip loads it once. In a real browser, scrolled so pictures load, with ads and trackers left out.
- 03
Keep the link. Open it for the live page, add + for the archive page, or an ending for a format.
Questions
About archiving pages.
How is this different from the Wayback Machine?
The copy is yours: it lives at your own short link, comes in every format at once (Markdown, PDF, screenshot, web archive), carries fingerprints and citations, and can be private or switched off. The same link still opens the live page.
Can I save the same page again later?
Yes. Each save is a new version, and the archive page lists them by date. 10 versions per link on Free, 100 on Pro.
Who can see my saved copies?
By default anyone with the link, at its archive page. With an account you can make them private, so only you can open them, or switch them off.
Can I save pages from code or an AI assistant?
Yes. Create a link with "capture": true in the API, or ask for a format straight away: https://snip.link/<code>.md is the page as Markdown. The MCP server's save_page tool does it from an assistant.
