Questions
About sharing files.
Is it free?
Yes. Share files up to 50 MB without an account; they stay up for 30 days. A free account shares files up to 100 MB, keeps 5 GB of them for good and shows who opened them; Pro shares files up to 5 GB and keeps 100 GB.
What do people see when they open the link?
A page with your file on it: the picture, the video or sound ready to play, the PDF, or the text, with its name, its size, a download button and its QR code. Nothing to install and no sign-up for them.
How do the formats work?
Add an ending to the link. snip.link/abc.pdf is a Word file, a PowerPoint deck or a sheet as a PDF, laid out as it prints; .md and .txt are a PDF's words; .png, .jpg and .webp convert a picture (an iPhone HEIC photo too); .mp4, .mp3 and .gif convert a video or a sound; and .json is a spreadsheet's rows. The link with the file's own extension is the file itself.
What can't I share?
Programs and installers, never, whatever they are called. Zip files and other archives need a free account. Share only files you have the right to share.
Who can open my file?
Anyone with the link, like any link you share. With an account you can add a password, set a date it stops working, switch it off, or delete it and the file with it.
