Cite web sources that stay readable

Web pages cited in papers keep changing and disappearing. Save each source as you cite it and your reader gets the page you read, with a citation that points at it.

What you get

For researchers

  • Citations with the copy

APA, MLA, Chicago and BibTeX, each pointing at the version you saved.

  • Notes-ready formats

Markdown for your notes app, a PDF for your files, plain text for search.

  • Fingerprints

Each saved file's SHA-256, so a copy can be checked byte for byte.

How it works

  1. 01

Paste the source. Snip saves it and writes the citation.

  2. 02

Copy it into your paper. Or the BibTeX into your .bib file.

  3. 03

Keep the list. A free account keeps every source in one dashboard, searchable.

Questions

Questions researchers ask.

Does BibTeX work with Zotero or LaTeX?

Yes. The BibTeX is a @misc entry with the url, urldate and a note with the archive link, which LaTeX, Overleaf and Zotero import.

Can I save a page again when it changes?

Yes, and each version keeps its own citation, so you can cite the one you read.

Are my sources public?

Saved copies are public at their archive page by default. With an account, make any of them private or switch them off.

Can I export my sources?

Yes. A free account downloads a CSV of every link any time, and each saved page's .json ending carries its citations.
