Terms of service

These terms are a binding agreement between you and Elowin Labs LLC, which operates Snip. By using the website, creating an account or calling the API you accept them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle data.

1. The service

Snip provides short links on snip.link, the QR codes that point at them, click and scan analytics, and a free QR code generator on the website (free within daily limits, more with an account), as well as an HTTP API and an MCP server for AI agents, together with a dashboard for your links, keys, usage and billing. Test a QR code before you print it in quantity.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old, or older where your jurisdiction requires it, and able to enter a contract. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account and for keeping your API keys secret. Tell us promptly if a key is exposed; you can revoke it yourself at any time.

3. Plans and billing

Prices are shown at checkout. Paid plans renew automatically each month until cancelled. Where a plan offers a free trial, it is available once per account; cancel before it ends and you are not charged. Payments are processed by Stripe; by subscribing you authorise the recurring charge. If a payment fails we may suspend API access until it is resolved. Taxes are added where required.

4. Credits

Each plan grants credits at the start of a billing period. Each tool states what a run costs (QR code generator: 1 credit per code), the same on the website, the API and the MCP server. Calls to /v1/usage and /v1/me are free. When your balance reaches zero, runs return HTTP 402 until more credits are added. Monthly grants do not roll over; purchased top-up packs do not expire while the account is open. Credits have no cash value and are not transferable.

The free plan grants 100 credits a month and may be changed or withdrawn with notice.

5. Cancellation and plan changes

Cancel or change a plan yourself in the billing portal. Cancelling stops the next renewal; access continues to the end of the period you have paid for, then the account moves to the free plan.

6. Refunds

Subscription fees are not refundable except where the law requires it. If the service is materially broken for a sustained period, write to us and we will make it right.

7. Acceptable use

Links. You are responsible for where your links lead. Do not create links to phishing, malware, scams, illegal content, or content that infringes anyone's rights, and do not use links to hide a destination in spam. We may disable or remove any link that breaks these terms or that we are told is harmful, without notice. Report a harmful link to the address under Contact.

You are responsible for how you use the results. Do not use the service to break the law, to infringe anyone's rights, to send unsolicited messages, to try to defeat the free-run limits, rate limits or credit accounting (for example by rotating addresses or accounts), to probe or attack the infrastructure, or to build a product whose main purpose is to resell raw access to this API.

8. Fraud prevention

We may keep payment fingerprints and other signals to detect abuse of trials, chargeback fraud and duplicate accounts. We never store full card numbers.

9. Your content and our licence to operate

What you send stays yours. You grant us the limited licence needed to run the service: to process it, to keep your history when you are signed in, and to count the run. We do not use what you send or your results to train AI models, and we do not resell them.

10. Our intellectual property

The service, its software, design and documentation are ours. These terms grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive right to use the API, nothing more.

11. Third-party services

The service depends on third parties including hosting, payment and sign-in providers. Their outages are not within our control, and their terms may apply to what you do with their data.

12. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT RESULTS ARE COMPLETE, CURRENT OR CORRECT.

13. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE OR DATA. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO THE FEES YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.

14. Termination

You may close your account at any time from the dashboard. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or that has been inactive for twelve months after we have emailed a warning to the address on file.

15. Changes

We may change these terms. Material changes are announced by email to account holders before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.

16. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts of Palm Beach County, Florida have exclusive jurisdiction. Nothing here removes a consumer-protection right you have under the mandatory law of the country where you live.
