How it works

.pdf to .txt

  1. 01

Drop the file. Or paste it, or choose it. PDF files only on this page.

  2. 02

It converts on the spot. A few seconds for most files; a large one takes a little longer.

  3. 03

Download or copy it. Or share the link: it opens the Text for a day.

What carries over

Every word in reading order. A scanned PDF that is only pictures of pages has no text to read.

Questions

About PDF to Text.

Share any file

Is it free?

Yes, with no sign-up: files up to 50 MB, 10 a day from each network. A free Snip account takes files up to 100 MB and keeps them for good.

What happens to my file?

It is kept for a day so you can download the result, then deleted with everything made from it. Nobody sees it unless you share its link.

Can I convert from code or an AI assistant?

Yes. curl -T file.pdf https://snip.link answers with a short link; add .txt to it for the Text. The REST API and the MCP server's drop_file tool do the same.

Can I give the Text to ChatGPT or Claude?

Yes. Copy it from the page, or give the assistant its link: the link answers with the Text itself, so an assistant that reads links reads it directly.
